I'm Nicky Jarrett


I'm a Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher.


I offer individual sessions and workshops, and make my own accessories to
complement my treatments.

I am also a Soap Maker.  These soap combine my love of crystals, Reiki healing, aromatherapy and making something from scratch with pure ingredients and love which takes me back to my beginnings as a caterer.

My Dream Child


I began my journey of personal discovery in 1987 – developing my skills in counselling and gaining a degree in Anthropology. During the 1990’s I took a post graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy. I worked as an Occupational Therapist, in the NHS, with adults with mental health concerns until 2004.  In 2003 I started focusing on mind/body and spiritual healing and I became a Reiki Master, teaching and offering 1:1 treatment sessions. From 2009 – 2015 I combined my Reiki practice with my part time job at Bromley Mind.

For Bromley Mind I worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner teaching people in both 1:1 and group settings how to develop new coping mechanisms using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Skills and Techniques. In 2016 I became a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist as a way of complementing my previous knowledge with a new skill.

This is an exciting time and Balance and Breath is my next chapter. My inspiration for the name came to me because balance is my zodiac sign and I feel best when my life is in balance. My spiritual animal is the heron which means balance. The breath is where we start from, the air is available for us all to share freely and when we solve problems by focusing on the breath the solutions follow. We are just not used to doing this.

I intend to use this philosophy of balance and breath with my clients and feel privileged to be able to offer evidence based practices such as CBT, relaxation and hypnotherapy separately or combining them with more holistic techniques such as Reiki and the breath as a way to achieve this.

What else might you be interested in? Cycling is one of my main passions and I rode the London to Brighton and Ride Prudential  with my club LEC for three years, sadly not this year or last. I have become very involved with Unique Cycling which is part of LEC.  We provide a safe environment for riders of all abilities to enjoy the freedom, independence, chance to exercise and make new friends using a wonderful selection of adapted bikes we have,  based at Sutcliffe Park Sports Ground.  I have been singing with Make a Noise Choir too, musicals and it lightens my spirit.  


I have a dog, Ash, can't help mentioning him, who gets us out of bed for a walk each morning and gives us the best welcome when he sees us.
