1) Reiki treatments

The first treatment begins with a short assessment. This enables me to find out what your expectations are from the sessions, whether you have any physical or mental health concerns I need to be aware of. I will also answer any questions you have and explain what will happen during the session. On a practical note, during the treatment, you remain clothed and can either lie down on the couch or stay seated in the chair.  I start with some breathing exercises and relaxation. Then I check your energies before gently placing my hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near your body. There is no massage or manipulation. At the end of the treatment there is a chance for us both to feedback on the experience. Sessions usually last 1 – 1 ¼ hours. I am now offering Distance Healing sessions.  Please do contact me on 07799 805 305 for more information.

2) What I like about this approach

Reiki is time out for yourself, it is a chance to nurture yourself. It is a very gentle experience and no demands are made of you. Because of this, your body and mind let go and you enter into a deep sense of relaxation. When you relax there is space for change to happen, your body and mind re-balance and you are left feeling refreshed, calmer, accepting, peaceful, centered, and energized. This leaves you with an inner belief that you can cope better with all that is going on in your life.

3) An Analogy

"As running water smooths the jagged edges of a rock until it is small enough to roll away, Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing and supporting the body's natural ability to heal it.”

4) What is Reiki?

“Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy. It is a holistic practice that treats the body, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It is a tradition that is open to any belief system and was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication.

Each person experiences Reiki differently depending on their individual needs at the time. Some people may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki treatment. Usually people experience a lovely feeling of deep relaxation, a sense of calm, and peacefulness on all levels. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colours, whilst others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be restored.

6) Balance

“We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is a balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well being.”
